An Introduction

Hello! Let me introduce myself. I am Rachel Rossos, a Marketing and Development professional for a fantastic chamber orchestra in San Francisco: the New Century Chamber Orchestra. I am also a folk rock singer/songwriter and, now, the publisher of the Funk Rocket, an online music magazine.

Why a music magazine? Michael Gallant (our Editorial Director) and I were frustrated that while there are many people writing about music on the 'net, very few are going beyond the usual CD reviews and concert reviews. We wanted to add another level to the discourse on music. This is our space to explore the intersection of music and life.

Our columnists will come from all walks of life, adding their unique perspectives. Some will address music from a very technical point of view; others will dive into the emotional aspects; and still others will approach it from seemingly unrelated angles.

We hope you'll join the dialogue. Whether you prefer to write a letter to the editor, post a quick comment on our website's wall, or share one of our articles with your friends, there are numerous ways to participate.
